J\u00e1 \u00e9 conhecido que AgNPs possuem efeitos citopatot\u00f3xicos frente \u00e0s c\u00e9lulas de f\u00edgado humano (HEP-G2). Baseado nisso, esse estudo buscou avaliar a altera\u00e7\u00e3o da viabilidade celular (HEP-G2) frente \u00e0 exposi\u00e7\u00e3o de diferentes concentra\u00e7\u00f5es de AgNPs (0,001 \u2013 10 \u00b5g\/mL) no per\u00edodo de 48h de exposi\u00e7\u00e3o utilizando testes de viabilidade (MTT e LDH). Inicialmente, as AgNPs foram caracterizadas pelos m\u00e9todos de espalhamento de luz din\u00e2mico (DLS) e microscopia eletr\u00f4nica de transmiss\u00e3o (MET). Os resultados demonstraram que as nanopart\u00edculas utilizadas apresentam morfologia esf\u00e9rica com di\u00e2metro m\u00e9dio de 20\u00b110 nm. Ap\u00f3s a intera\u00e7\u00e3o celular foi poss\u00edvel observar por MTT redu\u00e7\u00e3o de viabilidade nas concentra\u00e7\u00f5es de 1; 2,5; 5; 7,5 e 10 \u00b5g\/mL, alcan\u00e7ando uma redu\u00e7\u00e3o pr\u00f3xima dos 50% de viabilidade com IC50>10 \u00b5g\/mL. O ensaio de LDH destacou que n\u00e3o h\u00e1 altera\u00e7\u00e3o na libera\u00e7\u00e3o de lactato desidrogenase para o meio extracelular. Esses resultados revelam que mesmo nas menores doses houve altera\u00e7\u00e3o considerada significativa da viabilidade e, que possivelmente, as c\u00e9lulas n\u00e3o sofrem lise de membrana.
