Abstract: This paper presents a methodology for long-term stability evaluation of precision digital multimeters, using their calibration data. These multimeters are very common in electrical calibration laboratories and usually used as their reference standards. The multimeters are calibrated by the National Metrology Institute or by an accredited laboratory. Calibration data from their calibration reports are used to evaluate if they meet performance and long-term stability or drift requirements stated by their manufacturers or other documents, to define traceability chain in the calibration laboratory.
