Resumo:Fixed-point cells have been used as reference standards in calibrations of the thermocouples and standard platinum resistance thermometers (SPRT) in the Thermometry Laboratory (Later) of Inmetro, reproducing the International Temperature Scale of 1990 (ITS-90). The zinc freezing point (419.527 °C) is one of the 17 defining fixed points defined in the ITS-90. This article presents an open zinc freezing point cell manufactured at Inmetro, describing the constructive characteristics, the manufacture method, the cell evaluations, the comparison with other cells and the estimated uncertainty attributed to the cell temperature.
