Resumo:The paper presents the concepts of digital transformation from regarding metrology point of view. Also, the context of digital transformation is illustrated from the historical point of view of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and its economic importance. The main goal of this paper is to present an essential background to understanding digital transformation in metrology and its enabling/disrupting technologies: CPS, IIoT, digital twin, AI, metrology in simulation, cloud computing, metrology cloud, big data, virtual instrumentation, D-SI and DCC.
